So, Hey! This song is kind of a mix of things. I wrote this song when I was in New York for a school field trip. I went to a museum while I was there, and wrote down as much inspiration as I could. Anything that struck my imagination, I wrote down. I happened to have my ukulele with me, so I ended up writing half of this song on the bus on the way home.
Even though “love With No Return” has no real meaning, It is very deep and emotional. I thought that anyone who listened to it could interpret what they want out of it, so feel free to make it your own meaning. Every time I listen to this song, I just think of how much fun I had in New York with my friends!
And yes, I know i’m cringy. I tried to add a little Dodie Clark touch to the video. Maybe I should stick with my own stuff next time. LOL
Lyrics:
Love with no return
Arrest my heart and let it burn
A love scheme made up up illusions
I don’t understand the confusion
Paper ukuleles in night skies
A metal box filled up with jelly beans and butterflies
An abstract soul with a giant rose heart
From the start
Love with no return
I hillusinate often in my head
I dream of red balloons and black flags in my bed
An ice cream that is purely made up of frozen love
But then a black hole comes and sucks it up
Paper ukuleles in night skies
A metal box filled up with jelly beans and butterflies
An abstract soul with a giant rose heart
Love is hard
Love with no return
Love with no return
I just need one more excuse
For me to keep writing or else I’ll loose
Cupid’s bow and arrow on sunny days
A target that I hit which is filled up with haze
A blank canvas that I can start brand new with
Cause I say
Love that’s gonna return
Love that’s gonna return
Love that’s gonna return
Love with no return
